Gimmelwald — a sleepy mountain village of about 130 people, located at an elevation of 4,472 feet. The only way to get to Gimmelwald is by hiking or taking a cable car from Lauterbrunnen. The Schilthorn cable car stops in Gimmelwald where it is possible to board another cable car which runs up to the ski-resort of Mürren. Gimmelwald has no cars, no TV, no newspapers, not even a food store, but many cows, goats, and plenty of fresh homemade cheese. Gimmelwald has a small hotel, a bed and breakfast, and a Mountain Hostel.
