The church cemetery in Kilchberg, a suburb of Zurich, Switzerland. The village church on top of the hill has a beautiful small cemetery. It is meticulous, elegant, and peaceful in an unmistakably understated Swiss manner. The novelist Thomas Mann (Death in Venice) is buried here, as well as members of the famous Swiss choclatier familes Tobler, Lindt, and Sprungli. Unusal for a churchyard cemetery is the absence, or subtlety, of the religious symbolism used in the monuments.
