The Culebra Cut, formerly called Gaillard Cut, is a valley that cuts through the continental divide in Panama. The Culebra Cut is the canal's narrowest part and at 7.9 miles long it is almost a fifth of the canal's length. With material excavated during its construction up to 63 Egyptian pyramids could be erected.
