The old Kazimierz Jewish District in Krakow is experiencing a renaissance after many years of decline after World War II. It has new restaurants, lively old squares and restored monuments from its Jewish heritage. This is the interior of the "New Synagogue” or Remah Synagogue built in 1553 at the edge of a newly established Jewish cemetery. It is one of two synagogues still active today in Krakow.9
