This is the waterfall Skogafoss at the start of one of Iceland’s most famous hikes. The Fimmvörðuháls hiking trail is one of Iceland's most spectacular trails. The route goes from Skógar to Þórsmörk nature reserve, passing Eyjafjallajökull and the eruption site from 2010 where the lava is still warm. The hike is about 17 miles. The first part of the hike is known as Waterfall Way. It begins at the waterfall Skogafoss and rises up past 22 spectacular waterfalls.
